Davey FrenchRock Star Program Instructor
Dave “Davey” French first picked up a guitar at age 11. He practiced night and day, first on a broken acoustic and then a cheap Les Paul knockoff, and his playing eventually caught the ear of a music instructor. After completing a two-year course in music theory at age 18, French joined a Seattle band that beat out 650 other entrants to win a national talent contest. A short while later, French was invited to join the multi-platinum selling Everclear as the band’s lead guitarist and backing vocalist, and toured with the band in support of the Rolling Stones’ “A Bigger Bang” tour. With Everclear, French has traveled the world, playing far-flung shows in Iraq, Kuwait, South Korea, Europe and all across North America, including high profile slots on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Carson Daly Show” and “The Craig Kilborn Show.” In addition to the Rolling Stones, French has also played alongside some of the biggest bands in popular music, including Metallica, Def Leppard, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Weezer, The All-American Rejects and Cheap Trick. Even Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Everclear released a new album last month titled “Return to Santa Monica”.
